Electronic emergency braking (EBD) is a system that uses an algorithm to determine the distance between your car and the vehicle in front of you and is available on the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu here at Simpson Chevrolet of Irvine in Irvine, CA. If it detects an imminent collision, it will automatically apply the brakes to minimize damage. EBD can be activated manually by pressing a button on your steering wheel or dashboard, or automatically if it senses a potential collision with another vehicle.
Adaptive cruise control is a feature that detects vehicles in front of you and adjusts your speed accordingly to maintain a safe distance. Forward collision alert will warn you if it detects an imminent collision with another vehicle, while lane departure warning alerts you when you're drifting into another lane without signaling.
The Chevrolet Malibu has lane-keep assist, which uses sensors to detect the edges of your car and automatically steer back into your lane if you begin to drift. The system works in concert with adaptive cruise control (ACC), blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, and other safety systems. You can turn off this feature if you prefer not to use it.
